Rachael and Bryant's Big Southern Wedding
The Hill in Athens, Georgia
Amber Phinisee Photograpy
Two Georgia kids from large families meet, fall in love, get married = Big Southern Wedding. Rachael and Bryant met at The University of Georgia. And when Bryant proposed to Rachael in the middle of Sanford stadium, it was pretty obvious that the only place for them to get married was in Athens (and not during football season!) The Hill is a perfect location for a summer wedding and the layout is amazing. There are so many places to add personal touches and Epting Events really makes you feel at home for the day. I love everything about this wedding and I can tell you that it was put together with a lot of love as Rachael is our oldest of our 5 children. Yes, I did the florals with help from family and friends...no I did not get a lot of sleep....and yes, I would do it all again. Please enjoy the photos and their descriptions. I hope you find inspiration .
Come take a look at this magical wedding at this sweet southern venue!
We tried not to go overboard with signage..but this was too good to pass on.
The venue is big and does require some direction.
Florals like this lined the path to the ceremony site.
Perfect spot for a ceremony!
This small desk is one of many pieces that we rent.
Could not wait to make these!
Dahlias, garden roses, cosmos, peonies (in July!), blushing bride protea, and cosmos helped create Rachael's lush and blush bouquet.
I just love this picture of my handsome husband as gets his first look at his oldest child on her wedding day.
I may be partial since almost half of them are mine.
Bryant's antique duck decoys decorated the pool.
Always good to have a photo spot at the cocktail hour....
Lots of lovely places to put flowers and candles.
We opted for a cocktail and dancing reception instead of a sit-down dinner. There was still plenty of delicious food catered by Epting Events.
Since it was a cocktail reception, we opted for cozier 36" and 48" tables, but they still had that Jars of Flowers eclectic design.
No two tables were the same. We even had two different overlays made.
The signature drink was "Between the Hedges" peach sangria so we used locally grown peaches in all the décor.
We had some embroidered linens made as a keepsake for the Anglin's.
Proud to say that I was able to grow a lot of the flowers for our daughter's wedding.
Don't you love tables that feature the wedding photos of the grandparents and parents?
This old garden cart served as a gift table. Unfortunately, it id not survive the journey back to Suwanee. But the vintage hard sided-make up suitcase did!
This piece of vintage luggage is perfect for cards and part of our rental inventory.
Rachael and Bryant got married on the same day as my parents and used their cake topper.....so save those special pieces!
My parents cutting their cake was party of the simple cake table décor.
Places to put accent flowers everywhere...and we did!
When you have a big lawn, you have games!
This Love Marquee was simply magic at night is part of our rental inventory.
And café seating while you play.
